Welcome to the Ehrlich Research Group at the University of Michigan. We advance the population science of global aging and sensory health, combining rigorous data collection with interdisciplinary insights from epidemiology, demography, social sciences, and clinical medicine. Our research - centered in North America, India, and East Africa - focuses on collecting robust population representative data and understanding and addressing the impact of sensory loss on the lives of older adults. Through initiatives like the Longitudinal Study of Health and Ageing in Kenya (LOSHAK) and the Michigan Sensory Health and Aging Research Collaborative (Mi-SHARC), we aim to bridge theory, data, and policy to improve health equity and well-being for populations worldwide.
